History about Sound & Vibrational Therapies
Sound and Vibration are all around us. From the moment we are created we feel the vibration of life. Sound healing is a holistic practice that harnesses the power of sound vibrations to promote well-being in mind, body, and spirit. Practitioners use various instruments and techniques including mindful presence, sound, and intention, to create positive changes. The theory behind sound healing is based on the understanding that everything in the universe, including our bodies, is made up of energy vibrating at different frequencies. By using sound vibrations, practitioners aim to balance and harmonize a person’s subtle energy system, restoring a sense of peace, harmony, and connection to their innate ability to heal.
Through sound healing, vibrations are used to either raise or lower a client’s vibration, depending on what is needed to restore balance and resonance. This creates an energetic space where healing can occur on multiple levels, fostering a deeper connection to oneself and promoting holistic wellness.
Sound healing focuses on restoring harmony to disharmony and disease by bringing the body back to its optimum frequency. Tuned deep vibrational instruments like Crystal singing bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, drums, rattles, and tuning forks are commonly used during healing sessions to balance dissonant frequencies and bring them back into harmony.
Throughout history, beats, music, words, and chanting have been utilized for thousands of years to heal and energize the body, mind, and emotions. These modalities work by resonating with the body’s natural frequencies, promoting relaxation, stress reduction, and overall well-being. By immersing oneself in these healing sounds, individuals can experience profound shifts in their energy, leading to improved physical, mental and emotional health.
What happens in a Sound & Vibration session?
A Sound & Vibration session takes between 60-90 minutes. First the practitioner will discuss your health history and health goals with you. Then they will determine what sound instruments will be the best for your individual needs. During the session, clients or receivers will lie on a massage table in a position that is supported and comfortable. Depending upon the needs of the client the instruments the practitioner has chosen will be placed where needed and played in a pattern to bring about the desired results for the client. This will typically include several instruments.
